Small business takes lock-down to task

Many small businesses are having to diversify to continue working, providing a service in order survive restriction that come with Coronavirus outbreak. For many, this includes adapting new ways of working and expanding and divulging into new areas of business never before considered. This approach has been adopted by local tech company, Evoke Technologies Limited, based at one of the Hull City Councils Managed Workspace Centres.

With a drop in enquiries initially, changes and adaptations were made. Nevenka Fenwick, Financial Director at Evoke, said that adapting to new ways in contacting clients has been vital in ensuring that damage limitation has been kept to a minimum due to the lock-down.

As a small but impressive business, Evoke managed to evolve within a very short space of time, adapting to demand by offering a selection of new products which can be found on their website. Having the Craven Park Training and Enterprise Centre still open has benefited the business greatly during the pandemic.

Nevenka explained “The new products we have launched have come from the COVID -19 epidemic, to help the protection of staff and customers. We were approached by our Audio-visual supplier / manufacture who provide protective screens for our Digital displays.  The safety plexi screens can be used in various settings including offices, supermarkets, health centres to name a few. Along with a new automatic hand sanitizer dispensers. I instantly could see a place in the market for these items, especially with what is happening globally “.

“Evoke technologies still have a “can do” approach in making sure our client’s needs are fulfilled to complete satisfaction. We pride ourselves in supplying the right products at a competitive price at the right time.  I have seen more businesses wanting to work together and helping each other and generally caring” said Nevenka.
